RHEWUM collects donations for local children's aid organization

This year, RHEWUM's annual employee donation will benefit the organization called “Ärztliche Kinderschutzambulanz Bergisch Land e.V.” (= Organization for Medical Child Protection) based at the Sana Clinic in Remscheid.

In the German Civil Code (in German BGB) §1631, para. 2, the right to a non-violent upbringing for children is stipulated. As a consequence physical punishment, mental injury and other humiliating measures in education are prohibited. Unfortunately, there are families where children are exposed to violence and abuse.

The professional team of the “Ärztliche Kinderschutzambulanz Bergisch Land e.v.” has made it its mission to take care of children and adolescents who are affected by physical abuse, neglect and/or sexual violence or who are suspected of such violence. Especially due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the associated curfews, as well as the closure of schools and daycare centers, there is currently an enormous increase in cases of domestic violence and neglect. The “Ärztliche Kinderschutzambulanz Bergisch Land e.V.” is trying to address each case and provide the best possible care for the children involved. "As you know, we can use any form of support very well. It directly benefits the children we accompany," says Dorothea Schauf who is responsible for public relations at the organization.

We know that our donation will not stop violence against children, but we hope to be able to make a small contribution so that children who have suffered such terrible events can continue to be helped.
