BK Giulini replaces old machines with new RHEWUM technology

25.01.2019,

The company BK Giulini based in Ludwigshafen had two RHEWUM screening machines type WAN in operation to classify potassium polyphosphate, a food additive. These screening machines required more maintenance in the last years of operation (35 years in operation so far).

With the procurement of new screening machines, BK Giulini again relied on the current screening technology, the good quality and reliability of RHEWUM GmbH. The new high-performance screening machines type WAU significantly optimize both the classification (separation at 1.0 mm) and the maintenance.

Due to the high radiation heat caused by the high product temperature, insulation of the machine walls and additional cooling of the external drives were installed.

In addition, there was the challenge of retaining the infeed and outfeed components, which meant that the new machines had to be manufactured to a precise fit.

These conditions and the fact that only a few standard components could be used increased the engineering effort.

Since it is essential in the food industry that products are free of any impurities, the screening machines were made of high-quality stainless steel 1.4571 (AISI 316 Ti).
